Founded by Richard Barkey in 1997, Imparta now employs over 80 full-time staff. Our team has a broad variety of functions, from senior sales and engagement management to software development. It is Imparta’s people that give us the edge.

We have over 150 trainers and associate trainers around the world, an in-house translation service and local partners. This gives us the capability to deliver the face-to-face component of our programmes globally in multiple languages.

Imparta has operations and partnerships in the UK, the United States, Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa, giving us the ability to deliver large-scale, global roll-outs.

The Executive Team

Richard Barkey

CEO & Founder

Richard is the Founder and CEO of Imparta, which he created in 1997 after seven years at McKinsey & Co. Having grown Imparta to be a world-leading sales and service training company, Richard remains closely involved in sales research and learning design, as well as taking overall responsibility for the direction of the business. Richard holds an MA in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School.

Nicola Amiss

Chief Commercial Officer

Nicola is a sales leader with an impressive and proven record of implementing large scale sales transformation and performance improvement programmes. Previous positions held by Nicola include Managing Director of Richardson’s European Business and Director of Clients services for ESI International. As Chief Commercial Officer at Imparta, Nicola reports to the CEO and sits on the Executive Team. She has direct responsibility for the Global Sales Team, with the primary focus of driving strategic growth.

Mark Abell

Chief Marketing Officer

Mark has held various roles at Imparta, including MD of Imparta UK, and has played a key part in the company’s development since it was founded. Before joining Imparta, Mark was Head of International Marketing at the London Stock Exchange. Prior to that, Mark worked in business development at Baring Asset Management and the London Stock Exchange. Mark has a Master’s Degree with Distinction from the London Business School.

Delfim Pereira

Global Head of Faculty

Delfim joins Imparta from CEB (is now Gartner), the sales training and commercial implementation arm of the organisation where he spent five years as EMEA Director of Sales and Marketing solutions. Prior to that, Delfim was the senior director responsible for sales and product learning & development at global publishing company, Thomson Reuters. Delfim is responsible for accrediting, training and managing Imparta’s global faculty team.

Bala Shanmugam

Chief Financial Officer

Bala is responsible for the smooth running of Imparta’s Finance function, and for the financial impact of our go to market and operating strategies. He is a successful Board-level Finance Director, with a track record that ranges from delivering cost efficiencies through to evaluating and delivering new revenue streams. He has overseen year on year revenue growth for the last 10 years in organisations such as Rethink Group and Consol Partners.

Nigel Webb

Chief Client Officer

Nigel is an experienced consultant with a background in culture change, sales, customer service, and learning and development. He has a strong track record of helping improve organisations to deliver better customer experiences and sales results across both B2B and B2C. At Imparta, Nigel is responsible for the consulting, project management and impact teams that create and embed learning solutions for the company’s global client base. He also works with clients’ senior management teams to create solutions that help them successfully achieve their goals.

 

Ross Cooper

Financial Controller

Ross is an experienced finance professional with a strong track record in leading and developing finance teams. Ross has overseen revenue growth for a number of organisations, as well as delivering cost efficiencies and implementing new financial reporting systems. As Financial Controller for Imparta, Ross is responsible for the smooth day to day running of Imparta’s finance team.

Steve Lunz

Executive Vice President, Americas

Steve is a prominent expert in the sales enablement and talent development industry and joins Imparta at a time of rapid growth. Previous positions held by Steve include Executive Vice President, Client Development for the Energy Project and VP of Direct Sales and Strategic Partnerships for Huthwaite Inc. Steve’s mission is to drive Imparta’s focus on its US client base, accelerating Imparta’s position in the North American market in support of the company’s ambitious 2020 growth targets. Steve is passionate about helping clients achieve measurable results while building sustainable, high-performance teams that exhibit unparalleled client focus.
